General Information about Tallahassee Biblical Counseling Ministries
What degrees and certification do your counselors have?
Our counselors hold either a BA degree or Masters degree or are working towards such a degree. In addition, our counselors are either certified by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), a nationally recognized biblical counseling organization, or are working towards certification.
Are your counselors certified by the State?
No. Pursuant to Florida State Statute 491.014(3), our counselors are exempt from being certified by the State of Florida.
How do I choose a counselor?
First, make sure that your counselor is coming from a Biblical framework. Their sourcebook for your counseling should be the Bible, as it is sufficient (2 Timothy 3:16-17), not psychological theory, personal opinion or the DSM. Second, make sure that your counselor prays before each session. The third member of the counseling team is the Holy Spirit who teaches, guides and rebukes. Finally, make sure that your counselor is trained in Nouthetic Biblical Counseling by ACBC.
Do you offer support groups?
No, we do not offer support groups. We offer counseling training, counseling resources and individual, marriage and family counseling.
Do you prescribe medication?
No. We are not physicians. We cannot prescribe medication.
Do you offer any inpatient rehab or counseling?
No, we do not offer any inpatient rehab or counseling. All of our counseling is done outpatient at our office.
